In 1975, the music world was electrified by an eclectic mix of artists who not only dominated the charts but also defined the sound of the era. Elton John, already a superstar, released his autobiographical album "Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy," which soared to the top of the charts, cementing his status as a musical legend. Meanwhile, The Eagles reached new heights with their album "One of These Nights," which produced several hit singles and became their first No. 1 album, marking a pivotal moment in their career. Chicago continued their run of success with the nostalgic hit "Old Days," capturing the hearts of listeners across the globe.
Elsewhere, Paul McCartney & Wings captivated audiences with their album "Venus and Mars," which was accompanied by a highly successful world tour. Led Zeppelin unleashed "Physical Graffiti," a double album that would go on to be one of their most celebrated works, achieving multi-platinum status. The Bee Gees made a significant transition with their album "Main Course," introducing a more disco-influenced sound that would come to define their career in the late 1970s. John Denver continued his streak of success with the live album "An Evening with John Denver," featuring the chart-topping hit "Thank God I'm a Country Boy." Fleetwood Mac introduced the world to their new lineup, including Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham, with the release of their self-titled album, which marked the beginning of their rise to superstardom. Finally, ABBA made a significant impact on the international stage with their hit single "S.O.S.," signaling their breakthrough as global pop icons. Together, these artists created a musical landscape in 1975 that was rich, diverse, and unforgettable.

Wow! that was one of the best programme. Hits of 1975. I was turning 15. Who was the best Top 10 musicians in Malaysia in 1975.? Or if you couldn't find it, try the UK ones in 1975. Enjoyed this show very much. Thanks for doing it!

Anni-Frid went by the name Frida in the 80s. She had a pop hit in the U.S. with "I Know There's Something Going On" with Phil Collins playing drums in the song! It peaked at#13 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in March 1983.

I'm going to be blunt. Peter Cetera's solo career was a bunch of commercial crap. And don't get me started about David Foster. He thinks the sun rises and falls in his *%%%%✓✓ oh so they won Grammys together? Dyk the Beatles and stones were never even nominated for one? Anyway the 2 of them gave the finger to the rest of the band. Chicago was never the same after Terry Kath died. Terry and Cetera did a lot of good things together. He did a lot of good stuff in Chicago.

Since I'm the only one here and got told off and humiliated last time because I didn't know Foreigner had both American and British band members in it. Wow. Fancing paying out on me for that. When I was a kid I read a quote from Rod Stewart. ' Never trust a drummer who puts his name on his kit'. I saw a recent interview with Arpice. He seemed humble, wise and had a sense of humour. Age improves us all. Except notable exceptions. You know who they are. Did Carmen apologise for playing with Fred Nugent? Looks like I'm getting barred again lol The most hated man in the room is the one who tells the truth. We love you Maga 😍💕😍💕 Come join the Party and groove out to some Joe Bonamassa with us Good for your soul Good for the country We love you Maga ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ We think y'all are Sexy!!!

Hey man that haven't seen your channel before. Sorry about your mom's Alzheimer's. I myself have a problem that's not going to get any better. Dementia my first wife smashed my right eye up I have a couple of grams of glass in my skull and that's not a very good prognosis. But Greg Ken, it's just too bad. I wish you the best helping Mom through her difficult life. That's not an easy thing. My parents are both gone. But, I don't have to deal with the hardships that you have to deal with with that. That's not an easy thing I would surely assume

Different strokes for different folks. I’m coming up on 50 years old in 2024 and my first concert was the Dead in the mid 80s. I was 12. Dillon opened. Obviously it was an amazing experience. Stadium but it felt like family. I wouldn’t say my Dad is/was a deadhead. Just an appreciation for the music. I was lucky he passed that along to me. After that first show me and my Dad went to a handful of other shows into the late 80s we learned the party was in the back. With the “hardcore” students of the Dead up front with their notebooks, studiously jotting down the set and collecting their tapes. We were in the back meeting the people and dancing in circles. My Dad gives me the credit for squeezing my way back up to the front and grabbing him saying Dad the fun is back here! 95 I was a year out of high school with my first apartment in Ashland Oregon. Cooking at a Mongolian BBQ. A young adult 19-20 and it was a huge deal for me to buy tickets when I heard the Dead were coming to Portland. I still remember telling my Dad I bought us tickets. The look on his proud face was priceless. I drove us from Ashland to Portland and along the way my Dad saying God I hope they play terrapin station. (Dad’s favorite song) me not missing a beat. Oh they will! How was I to know. Out of the 100s of songs to play. Chuck Berry opened and of course was amazing, doing his signature move across the stage. And yes towards the end Jerry played Terrapin station beautifully. My Dad was beside himself. Two weeks later or so Jerry was gone. I wonder if we saw his last time ever playing terrapin station. It felt like it was just for us at that moment. The Grateful Dead are something different for everyone who listen. I’m thankful for the experiences I had.

The video for Everyone Wants to Rule the World had a lot of footage of Curt Smith driving an antique Austin-Healey 3000 sports car around numerous Southern California locales, so it's fitting it sounds like a driving song to Ronnie.

Funny you mentioned The Romantics half-way in. I was thinking how much those songs (their hits) seemed to be cut from the same cloth and then thinking if I was off base or not and then heard you say the same thing. I think The Breakup Song was a cut above though - even if they were cut from the same cloth.

Well I wouldn't exactly label him as a hitmaker. Had two songs. I have a sentimental connection with his loss because of my age when his songs came out. But, pretty much playing Holiday Inns for the last 40 years. No judgment. Just an observation
